Senate Bill 4 Could Mean Relief for Human Trafficking Victims
Passed in the Senate and now in review by the House, Senate Bill 4 mean that victims of human trafficking would have their records cleaned of certain charges incurred during their ordeal.
Our opinion on the bill is that human trafficking victims should have their criminal records sealed and expunged from the public view. Giving these people a clean slate helps them find employment, housing, and other essential life services. Most importantly, it helps them close a dark chapter in their lives, and start leading a happy, fruitful, safe, and law-abiding life.
